All of the people I love the most
are humble.
They don't think much of themselves
but do a lot for others
and have amazing qualities
that spring from their ability to listen
think
and act in the interest of the greater good.
They see people's value
if not always their own.
I love this in people.
To see someone who doesn't take themselves too seriously, even though they're quietly incredible.
And it doesn't hurt
that usually the humble
know that we're a bunch of apes
living on the skin of a rock
spinning around a ball of fire
at unfathomable speeds,
and we're better off sharing
than spending all our time
protecting hoards of stuff
that other people made.
