Starting Sunday, October 26th at 3pm, I'm starting a Manhattan chapter of The Wander Society.
We'll meet at a random location, do a quick orientation, and see where we end up. The wander ends when everybody goes home.
The Sunday Wander Society is a fun, free, low-stakes way to explore the city, have interesting conversations, and meet lovable weirdos.
But it's more than a good time.
Wandering might seem frivolous when there's work to be done, bills to be paid, family and friends to keep up with, plus your neglected hobbies and side-hustles.
Going out the door without purpose is low on your list of priorities.
But wandering is the practice that our species used to explore and settle the planet. It provides benefits for the brain, body, and community, providing the novelty that we crave while building new neural connections in the brain and expanding your map of reality.
To put it bluntly, wandering helps you make better decisions.
If you aren't already, please subscribe to get the meeting location (and our best posts) emailed to you the night before the wander. It'll be in Manhattan, somewhere south of Central Park.
Hope to see you on the 26th at 3pm!
Dan
