Why is Everybody Unhappy?
Industrial Society gives us so much... why does it have to be built on misery?
Industrial Society gives us so much... why does it have to be built on misery?
Wherever you look, people are miserable. Overworked. Under-appreciated. Unheard. Or worse. Why?
The answer is simple, but it's obscured by centuries of trickery, lies, and propaganda, all layered on top of each other so it's tough to see.
The problem we face is that we've built a globalized, interdependent system that benefits a few at the expense of many, and it takes a ton of coercion and lying to keep that system in place.
The result is that most of us experience a ton of cognitive dissonance and misery.
We trade for longer life, increased safety, rapid travel, hygiene, knowledge, science, and myriad enjoyments and spectacles, but the cost is high doses of alienation, isolation, and indoctrination.
That's why everybody is so unhappy.
Fortunately there's an antidote, and it's not at all what you might think.
